Is your dishwasher making strange noises that often make you wonder if it’s possessed? The dishwasher’s biggest enemy is hard water. If you live in Tennessee, you know that the water is very hard. Hard water leaves deposits and residue on the heating element and clogs the pores of the sprayer, ultimately diminishing the performance of your dishwasher. Additionally, the temperature required to activate the enzymes in detergents is 125 degrees.
Hard water deposits caked on your heating element can prevent such temperatures. Solution – add ½ cup of white vinegar to each load will remove deposits and aid in rinsing the dishes with no odor or adverse effects. You should also periodically run a cycle with a cup of white vinegar and no soap or dishes.
